Vogue Italia July ed. Air Mail rate – AUD $33
(well, actually that’s nothing special because Vogue Italia Air Mail mags always cost that much)
AKA doll Pink Label 2008 – AUD $125
A doll that originally cost about USD $50 and is PINK LABEL now goes for more than USD $200 ALWAYS on e(vil)bay – that usually means more than AUD $300 – in other words “I ain’t got that kinda cash!!!” but now she’s mine at last! (yeah, I know it’s only been a year since her release)
… credit card is now is massive pain yet again *cri cri* (ha! it wasn’t even my cash to begin with *sighs*)
Would it be weird if I wanna keep these two items on the pillow (well, maybe bedside table) while I sleep tonight? LOL *hides*

No! Not weird at all–keep them on your pillow!
Very cool! What a BEAUTY. (And on credit–well, it’s not like it’s “real” money…) LOL!

Oh my! She’s beautiful and so is her dress.
When never I got a new doll or toy, I almost always have it nearby my bed. If not, I take pictures and have my camera near by my bed. LOL.

Congratulations, Therese! I’m happy for you. Pity that the cost was so much – glad I ordered mine from BC early.
Sure, I’d keep a gorgeous new doll like her near me for the first WEEK or so LOL.

BC doesn’t ship overseas and I don’t think any of our local dealers were selling her… but I thought, she’s pink label… I can wait and get her off ebay when I have spare money to put into paypal… a few months later, prices for her totally sky rocketed – I don’t know why ???

I was surprised the way the AKA Centennial Barbie took off, too. Granted, she is a very pretty doll so that needs to be considered too. But I think that she did because of the sorority connection. A lot of people who aren’t collectors bought the doll because she represented their sorority. Just my guess.

Absolutely!!! Many of us did buy her because she represented the best of our sorority. I was at our Centennial Boule (convention) the day she was unveiled. The vending floor wasn’t prepared for all the interest. Instead of letting us buy her then and there they handed out order forms to purchase her directly from Barbie Collector. My instincts told me to buy more than one…I wish I had listened.
I am so glad that so many collectors really like AKA Centennial Barbie as well. She was my first purchase but since then I’ve bought three more. I’m hooked…
