Mattel had a serious called “Gorgeous Creatures” back in the late 70s or 80s? Not sure exactly when. Similar but these are classier.

I love Alice and Pink Kiki. They are just adorable!
You know–Goodreau Doll also has some animals (5″ and 8″) in the $98-134 range, which is pretty good for a BJD. (More like people with animal faces, though.)
