I’ve been waiting for an articulated Kyori doll with brown eyes and black hair that I could *afford* to add to my collection. This doll went on sale but she doesn’t have black hair… so medium-dark brown hair will have to do for now…
Of course, no post is complete without a criticism by yours truly – why does Kyori have to be characterised with that awful Dragon Lady (the Asian version of the Sapphire caricature) stereotype? Why couldn’t she be an average girl next door… you know, like the Perrin sisters?

Congratulations on your new doll! ^_^
Dolls in a way are caricature, especially how fashion dolls are caricatures from the fashion industry (the bitches, the dumb blonds and their silly soap operatic lives). That is why it is up to us owner to give them more substantial identity. This rejection of the doll’s factory identity in a way is an expression of real people like ourselves, of how we see other people, which could be totally different from the toy company’s for-profit’s-sake limited view.
