Officially Obsessed with Janay and Friends

It’s official. I am OBSESSED with JANAY and FRIENDS.

Janay

Alysa

Giselle

Jade

I spend hours searching on the internet and ebay for Janay dolls and friends. They are near impossible to find. If you think Janay is hard to find… try looking for her friends!

I even know what my holy grail set of Janay and Friends will be – the Iceland Ball series. I can’t find anymore images anywhere and I’m giving myself ten years to complete this series. LOL. I like lots of time…

After Janay, I’m looking furiously for Giselle dolls – not the Fashion Royalty one – and then followed by Jade and Alysa. I’m not sure… but do Alysa and Jade share face sculpts? Their noses sort of look a teensy bit different but I can’t tell from the tiny pictures I’ve got! They both have a squarish jawline lol like me… speaking of which… my tooth hurts…

I’ve posted topics in forums craving for any Janay tidbits. Multiple forums. Yep, obsessed.

  1. I have one Alysa, but zero Jades; so I can’t answer your question about them sharing the same sculpt. LMK when you’re ready for Alysa pictures.

I can actuallly help answer that (as a Janay collector for over 10 years..heehee). Jade and Alysa do not share the same face mold. Their noses are different and Jade has a rounder face than Alysa. They have used both faces in different collections sometimes using different skin tones. Jade has only been brown/tan once to my knowledge though. The Glam Zone dolls Integrity produced for their conventions was the only time I can recall that Jade has been used in a brown version. You can still get the Glam Zone dolls from integritytoys.com under the “ITBE” section. They have RuPaul bodies ;) Currently they only have Alysa and Jade (no more Janay) and they are the same skintone as RuPaul.

the dolls might have been cheap… but the shipping sure wasn’t *ouch* why oh why does the Pacific Ocean have to be so big?

I can imagine it being a bit pricey, but the dolls are really pretty. Did you get both of them?

    Therese Reply:

yup, I got both but just one of each… the postage cost more than the dolls LOL

You know what’s weird… the GlamZone doll in the beige dress ended up being a Janay doll!

You might want to ask Silvana if you can use this Alysa photo for your database. Note: there are two other Alysa’s on page 3 of her sale pages.

    Good luck!

Good luck trying to grab a Giselle. For some reason she was always the hardest to come by.

Weird… why do you think that is so? Did they have the same production numbers? Hmmm…

But just watch me! I will get an Iceland Giselle… might be a long wait but I will!

I agree, Giselle will be much harder to come by. Production numbers for Giselle were a lot lower. In fact, Giselle was only made for a short time and in only a hand full of collections. Integrity once was a company that devoted themselves to making “ethnic doll options/alternatives” to the blonde dominated toy shelves…so they didn’t focus on Caucasian dolls at all really. It wasn’t until Jason came aboard and wanted to focus on more Caucasian dolls that Giselle came about. I have pretty much all the Giselles except the Hair Salon one ;-)

I came across your blog when I was googling some info on Janay dolls. I was rummaging in my attic and came across 2 dolls that I kept in the box from years ago. They are both Jade dolls from the Janay line. I’m not sure which fashion line they were a part of but I’ll take some pics for you if you want them for your database?

If you want them, just shoot me an email. I also had bought an Alyssa, I think but she was deboxed. I’d have to look in my attic again for her.

There might be a Fashion Flashback Alysa available for you at DollPlaza. Google translated this page from the Korean original; several of the Integrity playline dolls are photographed. All but the one mentioned are sold out. Still, they are good photos ;-D

Happy viewing and good luck. If anyone reading knows if DollPlaza ships outside of Korea (?), please leave that information.

Hi, I also came across your blog while googling Janay. I found some of Janay & friends dolls in storage – I’m giving my nieces a few but will most likely sell the others on Ebay. Would you like pictures for your database?
Please send me an email as soon as possible. (-:

Hi – I just put a several Janay, Jade, Alyssa, Giselle, Jordan & Alejandro dolls up on ebay if anyone is interested. Sorry to let these go but life has created circumstances that make the dolls need a new home. Best wishes to all!
