Saturday, February 13th, 2010Little Neef was finally discharged from animal hospital on Thursday afternoon. He is still very sick and the vet has confirmed that his kidneys have completely failed and we are just taking it day by day. We keep him on the bedside table in his carrier overnight for night feedings and monitoring. I’ve been giving him a cocktail of drugs as well as syringe feeding him every 4-5 hours. It is tedious work and he hates it but each day he lives now is a miracle…

(yes, he has crusty eyes from being ill and a crusty chin from the food spilling from the syringe feeds – I’ve tried to clean them with just a wet cloth but he is quite sensitive and I don’t want to make him anymore uncomfortable than he already is)
On Friday (hmmm yesterday I suppose), a box from Integrity arrived. I’ve only just opened it today. After the initial confusion that the Glam Zone dolls I’d ordered came in plastic bags (lol I am so spoilt with all those fancy boxes) I’d realised that the one in the beige dress actually uses the Janay face sculpt! I spend hours searching on the internet and ebay for Janay dolls and friends. They are near impossible to find. If you think Janay is hard to find… try looking for her friends!
I even know what my holy grail set of Janay and Friends will be – the Iceland Ball series. I can’t find anymore images anywhere and I’m giving myself ten years to complete this series. LOL. I like lots of time…
After Janay, I’m looking furiously for Giselle dolls – not the Fashion Royalty one – and then followed by Jade and Alysa. I’m not sure… but do Alysa and Jade share face sculpts? Their noses sort of look a teensy bit different but I can’t tell from the tiny pictures I’ve got! They both have a squarish jawline lol like me… speaking of which… my tooth hurts…
I’ve posted topics in forums craving for any Janay tidbits. Multiple forums. Yep, obsessed.
Working on the Janay Face Sculpt Database
Friday, January 8th, 2010With many thanks to D7ana, Kim and the internet, the Janay Face Sculpt database is going quite well. There are still a lot more dolls missing and a lot of stock numbers missing, some of the years of released noted are a bit iffy.

Looking to Start up a Janay Database

Hi, I’m hoping to start up a database for past Janay playline dolls. I am mostly interested in Janay at this point in time and will eventually want to list the other dolls in the series too.
This is a sample page of what the list will look like – http://www.abcdoll.org/dollwiki/Mbili_Face_Mould – this is a list of Mattel dolls with the Mbili face sculpt. I list them by faces and by characters and sometimes if I have time, by series too.
If you could help me out, please email me pictures of Janay dolls at dollsofcolor @ gmail.com (remember to take out the spaces!)
Information required -
01. Face photo taken from the front showing face paint, hair etc
02. Name of doll/series, year released, stock number

I’m extending this request here too.
Another thing… the Janay face – this one – was Janay the first character to use this sculpt? I generally title my lists after the doll to first use the sculpt. And then I also write up a character list, since one character can use various sculpts over time.
Any help will be appreciated!
PS. I am also broke… so any offers to buy this or that rare htf Janay will be sadly declined. I am only after information, not solid goods… although I wish I could buy all the Janays in the world… *dreams*
