Yay people here get what I have been saying for the last 5 to 7 years we need more Asian dolls!!! I think we have enough black dolls if we r keeping score… we really need more redheads too… and any black dolls that r new should have more texture to the hair cause 99.9 percent of AA women in this world have very curly hair… I feel one thing that could make the inevitable blonde doll look more exotic is when you make her eye colour darker than blue… or any other colour than blue…

i have mulan… i am a professional hairstylist and i gave her a haircut and she looks simply stunning… it added bounce and flow therw out her silhoette

My first asain doll was a rocker barbie, she had a guitar and wonderfull black hair, i wonder if i still have her somewhere or gifted away. it's from'85 or so. So yes, i'd like to see something similar in shops, tho i'm caucasian, but i really love asian dolls.

I still have my Mulan doll (about 11 yrs old), she's kind of a lucky charm, i want a handsome male partner for her lol.

I really think we need more asian dolls! How about a So In Style collection with asian dolls? How about include asians in the new Fashionista line? Not only female but male dolls too! The only asian boy Mattel has ever made is Li Shang, from Mulan...

Yes, we need Asian dolls. We also need Latina and even multi-racial looking dolls! There is a market for this and Mattel needs to tap into it!
And a Caucasian Barbie with brown skin and dark hair is not enough!
I know Barbie has the Korean doll but not really......the clothes and hair are nice but Korean Barbie is just Caucasian Barbie with black hair.

so happy to see the SIS Barbies. My daughter has Trichelle and Janessa and LOVES them. We like Barbie and would be nice if my daughter could have a Barbie that looked a bit more like her.

And also work on the male barbies - they are so odd looking and stiff. Guess that is an international trend as male 'barbies' in Japan are the same way (Licca and Jenny brand).

I am strictly white America, (not my fault!) but PULL-ease-more beautiful ethnic dolls! The only affordable Asian I could find was the Korean Princess. Even she did not have a "true" Asian look. I love my South African Princess too, as she has lovely, full lips, a delighful blue/black skin tone, etc. but these are too few! The AA Disco Diva has wonderful curls, but hair is light. Of course I adore the Mbili doll, as the entire line-but cannot afford!!! This is too sad! As a 54 year old woman enjoying the heck out of my 2nd childhood, I delight in diorama display. I am currently building my own Village-consisting of blacksmith shop, design/boutiqe studio, apartments, homes, playground, school, etc. Some are cops, some undercover, some housewives, a few pregnant, with children, single, thugs, "nice" girls, "bad" girls, younger, older, customised (by me) GI Joe, etc. But I REALLY want a full range of dolls-just like it really is! I don't want an "older" barbie without wrinkles, an Asian doll with round eyes, an African American doll with caucasian features, etc. I also don't want clothes that are poorly made, accessories that are junk and just plain ugly, awful stuff. Recently into the Only Hearts Club dolls as teens for my town but they are difficult to find and limited. I hope, someday, to be able to find a few of the Mbili line that are non-mint, even naked, that I can afford, for my town. Hey-and a few REALLY ethnic Kens, that REALLY look like MEN would be great! I plan to get the HOT TOYS Blade ASAP-he is beautiful-looks exactly like Wesley Snipes, and have a nice Asian male on the way-but they are few and far between. Goemon males are attractive but less ethnic. I am VERY disapointed with Mattel and I hate the new big eyed blondes I see all over the place. I especially dislike the femininization of Ken. The Flava Liam is not bad but Flavas Tre is more womanly than the girls. I am SO glad to have found this site!!!! Maybe by watching here I can get a few leads! I will send pics of my gang if I ever stop working on them long enough to take photos! dogsRbetter.

I would love to see more Asian dolls as well. I've been scouring all the thrift stores and Flee markets trying to snag what little Asian molds that are out there and I can't even find any of them any more. It's so discouraging.
